Foundation
Release The Records exists to return withheld records to survivors.
Release The Records Foundation uses the Freedom of Information Act to seek military sexual assault and harassment investigation records that have been withheld from survivors and the public.
With pro bono legal counsel, we pursue broad records requests and, when necessary, fight the government in federal court to compel release. When records are released, our goal is to return them to the survivors whose lives and cases they document.
Over time, these records can build a documented account of how the military investigates sexual assault and harassment, who is protected, and how decisions are made behind closed doors.
